These days, Bill is is a nature photographer, looking for a way to create affordable “art for the rest of us”. As part of that objective, Bill has created Bill Atkinson PhotoCard, an iPhone app that lets you access some of his most beautiful work and send it to friends as either an email or physical postcard. Bill talks about his app and service, how you can use his photos or your own, and the challenges he faced to create a quality product. He’s also had his hands on an iPad, and provides us with some thoughts, as well as taking about how his app will take advantage of the larger screen.

He discusses the built-in capabilities of the Mac OS, and the improvements introduced by Snow Leopard to access your Mac across the room or across the country. Screen sharing is one thing but remote control of your Mac is another, and can be just as easy. Glenn discusses how it all works, and gives some real-life examples of how it can be useful.

1. To enter, you must hand Chuck a business card while wearing an official MacVoices t-shirt or sweatshirt on the Macworld 2010 show floor.

2. You can enter once per day – Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Only 1 business card per person per day will be accepted.

3. Please don’t interrupt interviews, tapings or sessions to hand over your business card. Please wait until an opportune moment. Violators will be shot. (No, not really, but we will abuse you publicly.)

Brian explains the current capabilities of the app, some of their plans for the future, and the app is free to users for now. Rogue Amoeba is not the first Mac developer to abandon the iPhone platform because of the approval process. Paul compares his position with others, explains why the process doesn’t seem to scale, and offers some ideas to help solve the problem.

After living with the iPhone for almost three months everyone had opinions on features they consider best-in-class, and capabilities that clearly need improvement.
