MacVoices #889: Taking Control of Recording with GarageBand ’08 with Jeff Tolbert

Jeff Tolbert

Jeff Tolbert, the author of the new Take Control of Recording with GarageBand ’08 is back to discuss the companion to his other new Take Control book, Take Control of Making Music with GarageBand ’08. This time, Jeff focuses on using GarageBand’s recording capabilities to capture what you create and help you turn it into a full-blown musical composition. Jeff talks why an audio interface isn’t required but is recommended for best results, reviews some of the tools built in to facilitate live recordings and some other equipment you might want to consider for your projects. Taking a larger view, Jeff also covers how GarageBand as a tool has been and continues to democratize music creation, encouraging “amateurs” to create tracks that far exceed much of is published commercially.
