Mark also discusses the latest integration of the iPhone into MacPractice, and what the iPad will, and won’t, mean to the medical community.

MacVoices #1019: MacVoices at Macworld – Bill Atkinson Shows Off His New PhotoCard iPhone App, and Comments on the iPad

Bill Atkinson earned his place in Macintosh history as part of the original Macintosh development team, and as the author of MacPaint. These days, Bill is is a nature photographer, looking for a way to create affordable “art for the rest of us”. As part of that objective, Bill has created Bill Atkinson PhotoCard, an iPhone app that lets you access some of his most beautiful work and send it to friends as either an email or physical postcard. Bill talks about his app and service, how you can use his photos or your own, and the challenges he faced to create a quality product. He’s also had his hands on an iPad, and provides us with some thoughts, as well as taking about how his app will take advantage of the larger screen.

As Macworld 2010 begins, Oliver Breidenbach of Boinx Software talks about why the needed to get a TV studio in a suitcase to demonstrate their flagship product, BoinxTV, at the show. BoinxTV gives the Mac live video production capabilities, and is a key component of the many video productions done on the show floor. Oliver names some of those using it, and also talks about why he brought a large part of his team to San Francisco, the benefits they gain from Macworld, and the value of the chance interactions that are part of the show.
