Pandora founder Tim Westergren, Pandora Chief Technology Officer Tom Conrad and MacVoices host Chuck Joiner invite Macworld Expo show-goers to an informal gathering on Thursday, January 12 from 6:30 - 8 PM in the Piazza Lounge on the second floor of the Renaissance Parc55 Hotel to meet and chat about Macs and music in a relaxed, informal setting.

Pandora is a result of the Music Genome Project, organizing thousands of tracks based on almost four hundred attributes such as melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics, etc. Start by selecting a favorite artist or even song, and Pandora then programs a personal online "radio station" for you based on the attributes of your selection. You have the opportunity to give each track a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" (think TiVo), and Pandora learns from your feedback.

The subject of a December 2005 "Who's Fast" article in Fast Company magazine, and boasting legendary Apple evangalist Guy Kawasaki as their first investor, Pandora is the perfect compliment to iTunes. Explore new music with Pandora and then add it to your collection from the iTunes Music store with a click.

MacVoices is the show for Macintosh enthusiasts everywhere. We talk to the most interesting and influential people in the Mac industry, as well as the people who are out there making it happen on the front lines of the global Apple community. Video, audio, publishing, switchers, industry experts, software authors...if it’s happening in the Mac universe, it’s on MacVoices.

Tim and Tom will talk about how Pandora started, how they select the music you hear on Pandora and answer your questions about the future of the service.

Chuck will be taping a special "meet-up edtion" of MacVoices, talking about all the events at Expo and how Mac user groups can use Pandora as the perfect meeting demo.

The meetup is free and open to all interested Macworld Expo attendees (wear your badges, please), but if you plan to come, please email [email protected] so we can make some tentative plans about a possible after-meetup dinner option.

The Renaissance Parc55 Hotel is located at 55 Cyril Magnin Street San Francisco, only a few blocks from the Moscone Center and a block from the San Francisco Apple Store.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with some of the people who are revolutionizing content creation, discovery and distribution.
